Session Description
Organizations seeking the most effective way to maximize social impact have led to the development of different forms of social investing. Innovative types of financing have been created to meet funders’ needs. Such developments have given rise to challenges in balancing social and financial return as well as identifying synergies for collaboration between different approaches. This session will discuss the range of approaches to funding social impact, the inherent challenges involved and opportunities for greater use of hybrid approaches. AVPN considers social investing to encompass philanthropy, venture philanthropy and impact investing.
