Good Society Expo was inspired by the Khon Thai Festival, and originated from several researches, including Khon Thai Monitor, which revealed a fundamental gap in Thailand’s social sector – A large number of Thais wish to join social activities but do not know where or how to start. The main purpose of the Expo, first of its kind in Thailand, is to strive for meaningful results through collaborations amongst networks in various areas of social movement and, with the general public. These collaborations reinforce our belief that everyone can be an “Active Citizen” to tackle social issues.
The Good Society Expo is a collaboration of more than 50 social organizations including Social Innovation Foundation, Anti-Corruption Organization of Thailand (ACT), Yuvabadhana Foundation, Enlive Foundation, Volunteer Spirit Network, Thailand Collaborations for Change Project, For Khon Thai Foundation, Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association, CentralWorld Shopping Plaza, etc. Thus far, the “Good Society Expo” is also considered the largest volunteer platform in Thailand.
This year, the Expo will focus on five major themes, specifically Education, Anti-Corruption, Environment, Health, and People with Limited Capacity, plus several Innovative Giving platforms that will accelerate solutions in the five areas above. Each of these sectors is also in need of human capital (volunteers) and/or financial capital.
This year, Good Society Expo has expanded collaborations to the regional level by partnering with Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) – an organization catalyzing a vibrant and high-impact philanthropy and social investment community in Asia through more strategic and collaborative approaches. The content in both Good Society Expo and AVPN Conference are designed to complement each other in the long run.
