Ms. Ruiying Zhang is the Executive Director of Strategic Philanthropy Center at China Foundation Center and the Executive Director of China Environmental Grantmakers Alliance. Previously Ruiying had worked at Energy Foundation Beijing Office for 16 years, served as Deputy Chief Representative for 6 years and program director for 10 years. She was the founding member of Energy Foundation office. Ruiying also had 16 years working experience in research institutions, government agencies and state owned enterprises.
Ruiying Zhang received her bachelor degree in Energy and Power Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University and master degree of Economics from China Central University of Finance and Economics. Ruiying Zhang had served as a short term visiting scholar at University of British Columbia in Canada and Stanford University in the United States. Ruiyin also completed the Executive Program on Strategic Frameworks for Nonprofit Organization at Harvard Kennedy School.

Philanthropic capital plays a key role in working along government policy and private capital to help transition the globe to a low carbon economy. The fact that climate change compromises progress towards other philanthropic goals such as poverty reduction and better public health amongst others, calls for philanthropy to do more.
