As a Portfolio Manager, Mark is responsible for managing relationships with Kiva's network of Field Partners across Asia and the Pacific, helping to connect lenders and borrowers through Kiva's online crowdfunding platform and expand access to capital for financially-marginalised populations. Prior to joining Kiva, Mark had been pursuing a banking career but he found himself increasingly drawn to the challenges posed by financial exclusion and the potential solutions offered by financial technology. Through Kiva's fellowship programme, Mark volunteered in Armenia where he saw first hand how Kiva's model can be used to deliver financial services and facilitate economic empowerment. Now based in Thailand, he continues to be excited by emerging financial innovations that provide new possibilities to expand Kiva's mission. Mark holds a Master of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of International Commerce & Italian.
