Kim Junmookda manages Plan International’s climate change adaptation program, which helps vulnerable communities adapt to the negative impacts of climate change in 9 countries across Asia. Through engaging children and young people, the program uses innovative education and awareness-raising tools, pilots community-based solutions and calls for greater policy change to tackle the problem of climate change. The program is starting to link adaptation efforts to green employment, climate mitigation, natural resources conservation and sustainable consumption.
Kim also specializes in helping NGOs and CSOs gain access to climate financing, developing and implementing climate change adaptation projects. Prior to joining Plan, Kim worked for the Rockefeller Foundation to support its climate change resilience initiatives, and supported its efforts to advance private sector engagement in climate resilience. She has worked for UNEP and UNESCO. Kim holds a BS from the University of Redlands and an MA from Stanford University.
