Dessy has strong interests on human factors and social entrepreneurship. They are developed through her 12-year experiences working for social causes. Her interests have brought her to serve various organizations and institutions, including Bank Indonesia (Central Bank of Indonesia), for organizational development, economic leadership, economic development, and entrepreneurship education.
In 2013, she started to promote and foster the growth of social entrepreneurship to crowds of any ages in Indonesia – children, youths, young adults, and adults – by way of research and development programs especially by applying Design Thinking and Design Ethnography.
She develops programs to promote empathy through science, creativity, and innovation such as Anak Hebat Anak Indonesia (AHAI), Festival of Social Creativity (FeSoVity), Indonesia Sociopreneur Challenge (ISoC), ASEAN SMArt (Science, Math, and Art) Camp, and Youth Economic Leadership Program (YELP).
Dessy has a degree from civil engineering (B.Eng), logistics and transportation (M.Sc), and Business Management (PhD). She was a STINT Scholar 2003 from Sweden, The Rune Andersson Scholar 2008 from Chalmers Vanner Sweden, ICAO-WAI Scholar 2011 from WAI USA, and NFP Fellow 2015 from the Dutch Government.

This session will highlight the importance of collaboration among universities and a range of stakeholders in the social investment space to grow the impact of the social enterprises and social entrepreneurs that have been cultivated at the university level. This session will also look at some of the existing challenges in forging such partnerships for further collaboration and dynamism across the entire ecosystem.
