Deepak Paudel has more than 15 years of experience providing technical direction to family planning (FP), maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH), and nutrition projects. Deepak is working with Save the Children Nepal team as Director of Health, Nutrition and HIV AIDS from July 2016. He worked with UK Department for International Development, DFID Nepal (2013 - 2016) as Health Adviser to manage a comprehensive health system strengthening program on FP, MNCH, nutrition, and HIV AIDS through a bilateral financial and technical assistance to the Ministry of Health. As the Senior Program Specialist at USAID (2008-2013), Deepak led the process of designing and awarding a health system strengthening project; managed the flagship maternal and child health project, provided oversight to child survival projects, managed 2011 Nepal Demographic and Health Survey, and developed multiple further analysis and program evaluations. As the Community Health Specialist at CARE (2008-2013), Deepak provided technical guidance for child survival, and family health programs and led project reviews and final evaluations. Deepak holds a PhD in International Health from the Ludwig Maxmilians University in Munich, Germany and a Master’s in Public Health and Masters degree in Public Administration from Tribhuvan University in Nepal.
