For the past 20 years, David’s entrepreneurial and business development experience lies between upstream strategic policy planning to downstream project implementation. After a 15-year career in corporate strategy and business development for top tier global multinationals in Canada and Europe, David joined the dot.com frenzy of the late 90’s and established one of the first web publishing and multimedia TV production partnerships in Europe. Both companies were successfully sold in 2000.
David joined the United Nations in 2004 and has held leading positions in Communications, Knowledge and Innovation Management, most recently as Regional Head of Innovation and Knowledge based at the UNDP Asia and Pacific Regional Hub in Bangkok, Thailand.
He has just established the very first United Nation Social Enterprise Facility (UNSEF), a unique multisector investment fund that is fundamentally changing the way all sectors can partner, engage and invest in social entrepreneurs enabling the creation of sustainable social and economic dividends.
David holds a BA, MBA and is a (very tardy) PhD candidate at the Institute for Knowledge and Innovation South-East Asia at Bangkok University.
